MANAGING A STREAMING SYSTEM
Streaming 4K video throughout your restaurant requires more than just plugging in a cable box.
First, you need to ensure your system can handle the strain of streaming 4K video.
Because it’s four times more pixel-dense than 1080p, 4K requires more bandwidth. If you don’t have the bandwidth, you can suffer drops in signal or blackouts.
Instead of traditional HDMI cables, most systems require HDMI 2.0 cables to achieve a high-quality 4K signal.
However, an additional wrinkle is that HDMI and other copper-based cables have a limited range. They can’t reach more than 16 feet and effectively deliver a signal.
In those cases, fiber-optic cabling may be necessary for achieving the desired effect.
